Little Hannah Collins

“ I think we're quite sexually charged people in the band. ”

WOV ARCHIVE

PLAYBOY.COM: On the album there are a lot of movie references. The title is lifted from a speech in Pulp Fiction, and there are clips from Mean Streets and other films. Are you a big movie buff?

COLLINS: I'm not as much of a movie buff as the boys. Sometimes when we're in the band and they're all talking about movies, I just have to grin and go, "Oh, yeah." When I was a kid, I used to make crafts or little tapes or make up dances; I didn't watch films too much. But the boys, they've really got good tastes.

PLAYBOY.COM: Speaking of boys, in your demo for "Brother," you sing, "My girls say that he's so wrong, but the power he has over me is so strong." Are you into bad boys?

COLLINS: I have been in the past, yeah. But not anymore.

PLAYBOY.COM: What do you look for in a guy now?

COLLINS: Somebody who is interesting and fun and has a lust for life. I like somebody who is sort of spiritual and has an understanding of higher things. Bad boys aren't good. I do like a guy who's decent, affectionate and caring -- just like they have in the movies. [laughs]

PLAYBOY.COM: What type of music do you like to listen to when you have sex?

COLLINS: I like old blues. "Champagne & Reefer" by Muddy Waters is a really good tune for that. "Rumble" by Link Wray, an old kind of surf song. I think they used it in Pulp Fiction, actually. It's the [starts singing guitar part] "doo doo doooooo." I really like "Justify My Love" by Madonna as well. Led Zeppelin: some of the slower ones like "When the Levee Breaks." Just quite dirty, heavy, raunchy.

PLAYBOY.COM: Kind of like the Heavy's music.

COLLINS: Yeah, there's something very sexual about it. And I think we're quite sexually charged people in the band [pause] -- which probably helps.
