Here at Playboy, our Cars of the Year feature is a consuming passion. All year round, three contributing automotive editors and one staff editor drive the best that the industry produces so we can bring you our picks for 2007's top autos. This year we drove more than 300 cars on challenging roads all over the States, Europe and even Africa in order to whittle our list down to the nine you see here. Our team consists of Ken Gross, one of the country's leading authorities on new and classic cars and a former curator of the Petersen Museum and a longtime Playboy contributor; Arthur Kretchmer, who served as editorial director of Playboy for more than 30 years until 2003; David Stevens, who served as Playboy's staff automotive editor for more than 30 years until 2004; and Scott Alexander, the magazine's current automotive editor.

CRITERIA

We value automobiles that encourage spirited motoring, embody the latest technological nuances and feature uncompromised beauty. We narrowed our focus to cars that are, for the most part, financially attainable to our 10 million monthly readers (this year's winners range from $25K to $150K). Only cars that are new models or are updated considerably from the model the year before are considered. Categories were selected that express the direction of the marketplace and what we feel is important to today's man.

Now it's your turn. Look through our photo gallery of our nine Cars of the Year, and let us know which one of our 2008 Cars of the Year is your favorite.
